SIMPLE DINNER FOR MY TWO 'TEENS'

Bukan senang nak fikir..."apa nak masak hari ni?", "nak makan apa hari ni?" Sebabnya hari2 kena masak dan takkan nak masak benda yg sama jer.  Bosan gakkan!  Bila ditanya..."nak makan apa hari ni?" masing2x jawab tak tahu.  Lagilah peningkan.  Tak menolong langsung!!

Well, for last night dinner...my two 'teens' say that 'no rice' tonight.

Ok, find with me.  So, i pun take 6 potatoes, peeled it, cut & boiled it with salt.  Apalagi...MASH POTATOES time!  I put extra item...which my two 'teens' will like it so much...SAUSAGES!!!!  They enjoyed their dinner with few slices of Gardenia bread each of them with it and of course LIFE Chili Sauce tak tinggal punya. Hahaha....


PINEAPPLES TART - 2ND MOULD.

As Salam and Happy Wednesday All....

Well, well, well....last Sunday...masih lagi ngan projek 'sample' tart nenas.
The previous week...i used the new mould that i newly bought which i think it may help me for easy job which resulted not easy at all.  Its give me 'blue black' sign on my palm n pain too.  So, i decided to used back my 'old mould' which i found more easier with smooth running.  U can see the differences from the two of my post here.  This 'old mould' end products shows that the pastry is a bit bigger & high up than the first sample edition.

Previous years, i make 'Almond London' biscuits for raya sales.  But this year, i decided to make only 'Pineapples Tarts'.  Making Almond London biscuits its not an easy job.  There is few hard job steps i need to do before i get the end products turn up nicely & yummylious taste.  I surrender to make it this year and since my 'teen young girl' which is also my assistant is going to sit for her SPM exam this year..the case is close. I do not want to burden & disturb her so much. I must give alot of space for her to focus on her study.  For family 'makan2x', maybe i will do it in small quantities.  My nieces & nephews like it very much which every raya times they will definetly will come and look for the biscuits. If i didn't do it...i feel pity for them. For them, my trade mark biscuits is 'Almond London'.

Well, making 'Pineapple Tarts' also is not an easy job.  Especially, making my own 'home made' pineapples jam. If you make 1 or 2 fruits, thats easy i guess.  But if you do in 'bulk', the 'hard work' is there.  Start from buying all the fruits, peeling the skin, take out the eyes, grated the fruits, drain off the juice and last but not least...cooking the tasty jam. To make the jam, i need to spare about 2 hours at least before the jam come out according to my specification.

You really need to put all your effords & patience while you decided to do all this.  I believe, when you have the interest on doing something, you must also cook/make anythings with 'LOVE'. Then only the things will come out nicely with better taste.  That is why i always believe - practise make perfect -.

For those who would like to taste/buy this cookies, I will make sure every peny that you spend on these pineapple tarts is worth it. I will not be 'stingy' on the quality ingredients that i used.  I'll make sure the 'jam fillings' is full enough & covered with tasty pastry.  Believe me!  So...below this, is the end products for my 'old mould' version.  Taaa...daaa...






Some people they don't mind spend a bit more as long as the taste is good.  Some people they only think about the 'price' not the quality of the food.
For me i don't mind spending or buying as long as the product nice with good taste.  If i buy cheaper items but end up by throwing it into the dusbin, might as well don't buy at all.  It's WASTED

You can choose - nice looking, less expensive with no quality taste OR nice looking,  affordable price with good quality taste.

TODAY IS TUESDAY...

HMMMM...SINCE ADA TETAMU WILL BE COMING TO MY HOUSED LAST WEEKEND, I PUN MERAJINKAN DIRI TO PREPARE SOMETHING.  B4 THAT, FEW DAYS BACK, I DO MY BLOG WALKING, I TERJUMPA 1 BLOG BY NEENA ANUAR.  I LIKE THE WAY SHE MANAGED HER BLOG.  COMPLETE!  THEN I SAW 1 RECIPE FOR DESSERT.  SO, I GIVE A TRY TO IT & IT'S CAME UP VERY WELL.  THIS DESSERT IS NOT THAT SWEET.  NICE TO HAVE IT WHEN IT'S STILL CHILL.  SO...THIS IS HOW IT'S LOOK LIKE. SORRY....I FORGOT TO TAKE THE PICTURE WITH NICE DECO, JUST TAKE FM THE MOULD ITSELF. 



ACTUALLY, THIS DESSERT, X GUNA BANYAK BAHAN PUN...TAPI IT'S REALLY TURN AS A NICE DESSERT.

FOR ANYONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO GIVE A TRY TO MAKE THE PINEAPPLES TART LIKE MY VERSION...THE RECIPE IS AS BELOW.

MAKING YOUR OWN PINEAPPLE JEM
1 BOWL OF GRATED PINEAPPLES
(MAKE SURE AFTER GRATED THE PINEAPPLE, YOU PUT IT INSIDE A SIEVE & DRAIN OUT THE JUICE. MORE JUICE WILL MAKE YOU SPEND MORE TIME DURING THE COOKING PROCESS)
1/2 BOWL OF SUGAR
2 TBS OF LEMON JUICE OR LIME JUICE (FOR TASTE & LONG LASTING)
FEW DROPS OF YELLOW COLOURING.

WAY OF COOKING.
PLACE THE GRATED PINEAPPLES ON TO THE WOK.  PUT UNDER SLOW FIRE.  LET IT COOKED TILL YOU CAN SEE THE JUICE A BIT DRY UP.  THEN ADD THE SUGAR TOGETHER WITH THE FEW DROPS OF THE YELLOW COLOURING FOR NICE LOOKING END PRODUCT. MIX WELL. LET IT COOKED TILL DRY BUT NOT TOO DRY.  THE TASTE WILL NOT BE SO NICE THEN.  BEFORE YOU OFF THE FIRE, ADD IN THE LEMON JUICE. MIX WELL.  LET IT COOL DOWN, THEN PUT INSIDE AIR TIGHT FOOD CONTAINER & YOU CAN KEEP IT IN YOUR FRIDGE. 

YOU CAN ALWAYS MAKE THIS JAM IN ADVANCE & KEEP IN THE FRIDGE. ANYTIME YOU THINK YOU WANT TO MAKE THIS PINEAPPLE TART, YOU JUST WORK ON THE PASTRY STRAIGHT AWAY.

FOR ME, I DID TRY KEEPED THIS JAM UP TO 3 MONTHS, IT'S STILL GOOD!

MAKING YOUR OWN PASTRY (ROLL TYPE)
 2.1/2 CUPS OF FINE FLOUR (TEPUNG ROS)
1/2 CUP OF ICING SUGAR
250gm BUTTER (CUT INTO CUBE'S & DON'T LET IT MELT)
4 TBS OF COOKING MILK POWDER
1 EGG YOLK FOR GARNISHING.

WAY OF DOING IT
PLACE FLOUR, ICING SUGAR & MILK INSIDE 1 BOWL, MIX WELL.
PUT IN THE CUBE BUTTER AND WITH USING THE FORK, MIX WELL WITH ALL THE INGREDIENTS.  IF YOU WISH TO USE YOUR HAND FOR THIS PROCESS, JUST USE YOUR FINGER TIPS ONLY.

AFTER YOU SEE IT BECOMES LIKE BREADCRUMBS, NICELY MAKE IT INTO DOUGH USING YOUR HAND BUT MAKE SURE YOU DONT DO THIS PROCESS FOR LONG TIME. JUST ENOUGH YOU CAN FORM 1 ROUND DOUGH.  KEEP IT COVERED AND LET THE DOUGH REST ABOUT 10 TO 15 MINUTES BEFORE YOU CAN START DO IT YOUR PINEAPPLES TART. 

BY USING YOUR ROLL TYPE MOULDING TOOLS, LINE UP THE PASTRY ON A TRAY & PUT THE JAM ON IT & ROLL IT OVER.  CUT THE EDGE.  THEN GARNISH WITH THE EGG YOLK BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN THE OVEN FOR BAKING ABOUT 20 MINUTES WITH OVEN TEMPERATURE OF 160C.  (Diff. oven diff. way of it, so pls be alert)

** FOR EASY - U CAN MOULDED YOUR JAM USING YOUR HAND ACCORDING TO THE DESIRE SIZE U WANTED BEFORE HAND. COVERED IT & PUT IT IN THE FRIDGE.

SO, LAST SATURDAY, WITH FULL OF SPIRIT TO MAKE THE COOKIES (since my niece is coming back fm KL & I need to provide her with the samples of HOME MADE PINEAPPLES TART for her to promote b4 fasting month).  BELOW PHOTO'S IS THE END PRODUCT LOOK LIKE.





WELL, RAMADHAN MONTH FOR THIS YEAR 2012, IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER.  BY JULY 21st. ALL MUSLIMS WILL START FASTING. INSYAALLAH.  SO, FOR THOSE WHO USUALLY SELLING / PRODUCE ANY SORTS OF COOKIES FOR HARI RAYA, THEY WILL START PROMOTING THEIR PRODUCTS BY GIVING BISCUITS SAMPLES THAT THEY INTEND TO DO B4 THE FASTING MONTH START.  SO DO I FOR THE SAME CASE.  AS FOR ME, I ONLY PRODUCE 1 TYPE OF COOKIES ie. HOME MAKE PINEAPPLES TART.  RIGHT FROM MAKING THE PINEAPPLES JAM TILL TO THE PASTRY ITSELF.

PLEASE SEE FOR YOUR SELF BELOW.....

BELOW IS THE PINEAPPLE JAM.  THIS REALLY TAKE MY SWEAT OUT.  START FROM PEELING THE SKIN, TAKE OUT THE EYES, GRATED, SIEVING OUT THE JUICE  TILL COOKED IT INTO JAM.  1st. ROUND I MAKE 12 FRUITS OF PINEAPPLE.  VERY TOUGH JOB! IS NOT AN EASY.  DURING THIS PROCESS, MY HAND & FINGER GOT CUT BY THE SHARP SCRAPPER.
NO WONDER, THIS BISCUITS PRICE FOR SELLING IS NOT THAT CHEAP.  FOR THE QUALITY INGREDIENTS + WORKMENSHIP + PACKING & DELIVERY IS WORTH IT!

Dah lama x update blog ni.  Dah bersawang2x klu blh nampakkan?  Well, beberapa bln yg lalu, i n my daughter rasa macam nak minum ABC yg sedap.  Tapi nak cari dimana yg sesedap rasa mcm yg arwah mak mertua buat? Nak buat sendiri...memang xkan adalah jawabnya.  Wlpun peralatan ada, tapi nak buat segalanya memang satu kerja pulak.  Lainlah klu nak buka bisness semula.  So, daripada x ada, kami glah minum ais kacang yg agak boleh diterima tekak.  Kami g ke Taman Kanak-Kanak di Ipoh di gerai Ah Yoong which is our favourite stall yg menjual bermacam2 jenis air.  Selain ABC, gerai Ah Yoong ni terkenal ngan Air Kelapa Laut + Kembang semangkuk yg blh ditambah ngan buah laici.  Memang superb!  Layan gambar ABC tu ya. Yummy......
